Yamaha's new YZF-R1 and R1M have been released, and important engine technology updates include a new finger-type valve rocker arm, cylinder head and injector. It is designed to improve the extreme performance in the full speed range.

In order to shorten the distance between the combustion chamber and the throttle valve, the cylinder head structure has been updated and a new injector has been adopted. The current model injects from the lower side of the intake duct, and the optimized new model injects from the upper side, so that the mixture directly hits the umbrella-shaped part of the intake valve. A dual injector system that can add secondary injection in the high speed area. The combustion speed in the medium and low speed range is optimized to improve linearity.

HY analyzes and studies the characteristics of aluminum alloy cylinder head mold structure and sand core design in view of the compact structure, uneven wall thickness and complex sand core shape of motorcycle cylinder head. MAGMA software is used to simulate and analyze the influence of factors such as temperature, pressure and cooling rate on the solidification structure of low-pressure casting of aluminum alloy cylinder head.

The combustion chamber area is subjected to repeated high-temperature combustion work and power output during the driving of the motorcycle, and the internal structure density and dimensional accuracy of the aluminum alloy in the combustion chamber area are required to be high. Therefore, the primary quality goal of low-pressure casting production of cylinder heads is to ensure the density of the combustion chamber area and reduce the occurrence of solidification shrinkage in this area.

At present, low-pressure casting technology is developing in the direction of lightweight, digitalization and intelligence. By using numerical simulation software, the influence of process factors such as temperature, pressure and cooling rate on the solidification and crystallization process of castings can be intuitively analyzed, and the occurrence of defects such as air entrainment, hot spots and key positions during the filling and solidification of castings can be predicted and analyzed, and corresponding process measures can be taken to improve the casting density and thermodynamic properties.
